The Legacy Project

The Legacy Project is collaboration between Legacy Fellowship of Churches and the Coalition of Urban Daycare Centers specializing in human services, at-risk population and faith-based intervention.

History

The "Legacy Project" was birthed out of a collection of ministries which represent over 50 years of service to the community.  Every church and daycare facility, service adults and churches which are in need of basic human services (i.e., health, counseling, intervention and prevention).  Through joining daycare centers and churches together, we have the capability to educate and maximize provided services.  The collaboration begun in 2003, since then other partnerships have been established in 2012.

Today, partnerships are continuously increasing thru networking and strategic relationships.

Mission

To address the basic human needs of children and youth in the Tampa area thru collaboration with childcare centers and churches.  By utilization these institutions as HUB's, we seek to provide services and facilities to advance the individual need.  Each HUB (the term which is use to describe the individual childcare center and church) is and or will be equipped with volunteer outreach workers and case managers.

The Legacy Project will implement needed services based on the individual need of the HUB location.  There will be assessment evaluations, and data collection performed thru various ministries of each church as well as information provided by childcare centers.  It's is our goal to make contact and provide some level of human services to at least a minimal of a thousand individuals monthly thru the HUB model.
