Our Story
If you were to ask the people who attend our church what was their experience they would tell you that First Victory Cathedral is a place of healing and understanding. The group of people there along with their Pastor has been through the fires of life but has not been consumed.
The history of First Victory Cathedral is simple. It was birthed out of a refusal to give up. Through the pain and heart this small group was determined to be first in seeing the Victory of God’s faithfulness. We knew no defeat! We were going to stand and take back everything the devil had stolen.
Our commitment is simple. To be people of victory and to leave a legacy of victory to the next generation. Currently we are in the process of rebuilding. The Father has given us a strategy to build a victorious church. First we will build the core leadership. These will be the pillars of the Church, which will consist of the Five-fold ministry, and Executive Staff. Second we will reach the committed members which consist of helps, men and women fellowship, youth and children, armor bearers, etc. Third we will reach the uncommitted with outreach and inreach by developing the Evangelism ministry. Finally, we plan to reach the unchurch population. This entire vision overview is a 3-10 year process.
Our leader, Bishop Michael W Lewis, Sr. is committed to nurturing this vision and seeing it manifest. Bishop Lewis has went through painful events in his life however he is determined to make the devil a liar and show him that despite all he still has the victory and God is still GLORIFIED! Bishop Lewis was ordained through St. John Cathedral Ministry and Legacy Ministerial Alliance. He also holds an Honorary Doctorate from North Florida Theological Seminary. Bishop Lewis is best known for his anointed teaching, his expectation for order, and desire to reach out to help those in need. What he has endured have enlarged his heart for people and given him desire to reach out to those who are hurting.
First Victory Cathedral was birthed during the mist of pain however out of this pain will come a force that will release the captive and boldly proclaim the Kingdom of God!
Our Congregation
We are made up of people who are from all walks of life and who are at different places in their relationships with God. Our Church is a blend of brand new believers and established, mature Christians. We are everyone from business owners, school bus drivers, and homemakers, but more importantly, we are people hungry for more of God in our lives. We are called to go deeper into our relationship with the Lord-to go beyond religion and discover the reality of the loving, merciful God we serve. No matter where we live or what we do, God is using us to reach a dying World with His undying love. Together we are learning to live victorious lives based on the promises in God’s Word.
We are called to share the good news of Jesus Christ, live out our faith everyday and walk in all of the promises that God’s Word has guaranteed us as believers. We are called to share that life changing message of Christ Jesus, as well as the love of God to our communities, our country, and our world.
